Thai Table 2

by Jess Chamberlain, Sunset market editor

16th Workshop is a Seattle-based husband and wife team that designs and builds handmade modern wood furniture "of craft and permanence." They made their first ICFF appearance last month—joining what seemed to be an influx of small design companies popping up from the emerald city.

We love their credo: We believe that good design makes us more observant participants in our world and thereby helps us to recognize the value and beauty that surrounds us every day.

The thai table, pictured here, is made of salvaged oregon white oak. A hand shaved spindle shelf below allows easy storage and the table base is assembled using only joined elements with no screws or bolts. It's available in three sizes, with and without the spindle shelf.

We are similarly smitten with the batto chair—check out that joinery!

This is awesome. Finally somebody knows how marry craft+ageless aesthetic+how to use wood the way it should be. Way to go!
