Finally: The modern-day take on the little red wagon.

Inspired by the need to address sustainability for their young children, husband and wife designers Scot and Amy Herbst recently launched Kaiku (ky-coo; "to grow" in Japanese), a Palo Alto, CA-based company focused on quality-made, hand-built natural kids playthings. (Oh, and the products are also BEAUTIFUL.)

Encouraging parents and families to "live thoughtfully by surrounding themselves with products designed and built to last a lifetime", this little Zen wagon—one of their three kiddo pushcart-like products—is fashioned from formaldehyde-free Baltic birch wood, natural rubber tires, weather and corrosion resistant hardware, and safe non-toxic finishes. Motivating families to spend more time outside (summer farmers markets!), the wagon provides maximum comfort and ergonomics for the riders and the driver.
