I'm a sucker for handcrafted wood furniture. My dad was a weekend woodworker and I'd spend hours with him in his garage watching him make furniture from scrap wood he collected. The smell of freshly-sawn wood instantly takes me back to those days.

So, when I happened upon LA-based furniture maker Cliff Spencer's beautiful reclaimed wine oak furniture on Stylehive, it was love at first sight.  My love of wood and wine combined!? I'm sold!

Spencer salvages staves--1/2-inch pieces of white oak added to stainless steel wine vats to impart flavor during fermentation--to make custom doors and furniture.  The variations in color are natural staining from the wine.

I can't believe it's from reclaimed wood. Looks really great.

Thats pretty inspiring - fascinating about the colour variations from the Wine, and it has some history. Very cool indeed.
