Branchbowls

By Jess Chamberlain, Sunset home & design writer

This love-lovers month has us giddy for almost anything red and pink. But of course, we appreciate goods that won't feel like old news come February 15th. (A key element in making sustainable product choices is choosing goods that you can use time and again.)

These new bamboo bowl colors by Bambu (7 colors in 4 sizes) have me dreaming of uses beyond the kitchen. A few on my vanity—some "mini me" and "low" ones (2.5" tall x 4.5" diameter and  2" tall x 11" diameter, respectively) would be perfect to hold jewelry. Check out their new "outside-in" bowls too.

The bowls are available through our fave San Francisco-based sustainability-meets-style online shop, Branch.

Another Valentine's Day-ish Branch favorite comes along with a sweet story:

Branchring_2

This is a 100% felt ring from Branch ($28, also available in blue, white, or chocolate). Its unique material and shape make its price point wow-worthy. (Branch offers overnight and 2-day shipping if you're desperate for this by February 14th).

Okay, here's the sweet part: In December, Branch owner, Paul Donald, used this ring (a white one) when he popped the question to his now-fiancée Janeen:

"She wears it on a chain around her neck, and each morning when I put it on her, I ask her to marry me. So far, she's still saying yes."

They're now looking to have their wedding bands made of reclaimed material.

Ahhhhh, sustainable love. Congratulations Paul and Janeen!
