By Sarah Gaffney, Sunset Idea House program manager

I'm still without a camera,* but borrowed one last week to photograph the finished interiors at our Monterey Idea House. Here are a few of my favorite design elements in this spectacular house.

Montereyfrontdoor_5

Old World Door provided the handsome 14' walnut barn doors at the entry. A gorgeous welcome!

Montereylivingdining

Nana Wall created the 17' span of glass in the living and dining room, designed to fold away as seen here, and open to the beautiful oak courtyard and views of Monterey Bay.

Montereyfamilytree

Our family tree project in the Family Room finally came to fruition!

Montereyjoekitchen

Interior designer Joseph Hittinger in the Kitchen. He designed the moveable Vetrazzo tables that wrap around the column island.

Montereymoocow

One of the favorite pieces of furniture in the house. What we've dubbed the Moo Cow dresser from Tuvalu in Laguna Beach. They also provided the ladder. Thank you Laurie and Jaymi!

Montereyghostart

One of the guaranteed conversation-starters at the house. We've hung four of these body forms in the entry gallery. They're beautiful at night, when their reflections are cast out into the courtyard and glimmer in the oak tree. Reminds me of the dancing ghosts on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland.

*Camera recommendations are welcome. I'm looking for an entry-level digital SLR. My point-and-shoot days are over.

This is really nice. I can imagine them at night.
